5 YEAR LL.B : FIRST ALLOTMENT PUBLISHED


 The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has published the first allotment to the Five Year LLB course today evening. Centralized Allotment Process for Integrated 5 year LL.B Course in the four Government Law Colleges of the State for the year 2011-'12 was commenced on 17.10.2011. Allotment details can be had from the
website

The details such as candidates' name, roll number, allotment details, reservations allowed, tuition fee to be remitted are available on the home page of the candidate. The candidate can take a print out of the allotment memo.
All candidates who have received allotment should remit the fees at the allotted college at the time of admission. The candidates who do not join the College within the stipulated time will lose their allotment and also the higher order options.
Candidates who receive allotment to Government Law Colleges for Integrated 5 year LL.B course in the first allotment should join the allotted colleges on 25th, 27th or 28th October 2011. Colleges shall furnish the non-joining report to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations before 3 p.m. on 29.10.2011.

MCA Option Registration Begins


The Centralized Allotment Process for MCA course in the Government/ Government Aided/ Government Controlled Self Financing / Private Self Financing  Colleges of the State for the year 2011-'12 has been started today by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Candidates included under Rank List can register their options on the website
www.cee.kerala.gov.in upto 4 p.m. on 28-10-2011.  Candidates who do not register their options will not be considered for allotment under any circumstances. Options submitted to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations by Fax, Post, Hand delivery etc. will not be processed or considered on any account for the allotment of seats. Candidates should register their options strictly based on the Academic Eligibility conditions mentioned in Clause 5(b) of the MCA Prospectus 2011.
 
A Trial Allotment will be done on 27.10.2011. Website for Option registration will be clsoed on 28.10.2011 at 4 p.m. First Allotment will be published on 29.10.2011. Candidates allotted should remit fee/deposit at the selected branches of the State Bank of Travancore (SBT) on 31st October, 1st & 2nd November 2011.Students to join the Colleges on 02.11.2011 or 03.11.2011. Website for rearranging / deleting options will be opened on 07.11.2011 and closed on 08.11.2011 at 4 p.m. 2nd Phase allotment based on the Non-payment & Non-joining report furnished by Colleges will begin on 09.11.2011 .

Documents to be Produced at the time of Admission: 
1. Admit Card of the Entrance Examination.

7. The applicant who is employed or trainee in Government / Quasi Government / Banks etc. shall at the time of interview produce a relieving order and a certificate of good conduct from the Head of the institution where the candidate was employed.
8. Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities / Boards outside the State shall produce an “Eligibility Certificate” from the University concerned in Kerala , to the effect that the qualifying examination has been recognized by the University.
9. The student who qualifies from other universities should produce migration certificate at the time of admission.
Candidates who do not take admission within the specified dates shall lose their allotment and shall not be considered for further allotments.
  
Those candidates who get allotment based on the first allotment to be published on 29-10-2011 will have to remit the requisite fee in designated branches of State Bank of Travancore on or before the date specified for having accepted the allotment.

CUSAT CAT on May 5, 6 ; Amrita on April 22


The Cochin University of Science & Technology ( CUSAT) will conduct next year's (2012- 13 ) common Admission Test (CAT 2012) on 5th and 6th of May 2012. The test for the B. Tech. courses will be on the 5th and the tests for PG courses will be on 6th. The formal notification of the test will be published in the first week of January 2012.
Online registration will begin in the same week. Apart from the district head quarters in Kerala, test will be conducted in New Delhi, Kolkota, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kota, according to a CUSAT notification.
Meanwhile Amrita Deemed University has announced its date of Engineering Entrance Examination. According to this, their Engg Entrance will be held on April 22nd. Detailed notification will be issued shortly.

IIT-JEE : Application from Oct 31


The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2012, for admission to the Under Graduate Courses at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) at Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar and Roorkee; the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU), Varanasi and Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, the IIT-JEE 2012, will be held on  April 8, 2012 (Sunday). The process of online application will start on 31st October, 2011. Details will be available at the IIT websites. Online application facility will be available till December 10, 2011. 
The Examination will have two papers, with Paper 1 to be held from 9 am to 12 noon (IST) and Paper 2 from 2 pm to 5 pm (IST). The schedule will remain unaltered even if the above date is declared a public holiday. Each of the two question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
The answer for each question is to be marked on a separate, specially designed, machine-gradable sheet of paper (ORS-Optical Response Sheet), by darkening the bubble(s) against correct answer(s) using black ball point pen only. In some sections, incorrect answers may be awarded negative marks. Eligibility: Applicant of the General (GE) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) category must have been born on or after October 1, 1987. Those born earlier are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012. Those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and those with Physical Disability (PD) must have been born on or after October 1, 1982. SC/ST/PD candidates born before October 1, 1982 are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012.  
Applicant must have either passed any one of the Qualifying Examination listed below, for the first time, on or after October 1, 2010 or should be appearing for the first time in 2012. Those who are going to appear in the Qualifying Examination later than September 30, 2012 are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012.
(i) The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.  
(ii) Intermediate or 2-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
(iii) Final examination of the 2-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
(iv) General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
(v) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
(vi) H.S.C. vocational examination.
(vii) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
(viii) A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration.
(ix) Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
In case the relevant Qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.
The year of passing the Qualifying Examination will be determined based on the examination he/she passed at the earliest, out of the qualifying examinations listed here. In case the applicant passed more than one Qualifying Examination or attempted successfully same Qualifying Examination more than once, the year of the first successful QE/attempt will be used to determine the eligibility for IIT-JEE 2012.
Applicants belonging to General (GE) and OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in Qualifying Examination. SC, ST and PD candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in Qualifying Examination.
The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling / admission. In case such a certificate is not provided the decision taken by the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) of IIT-JEE 2012 will be final.
The maximum number of attempts that a candidate can make for JEE is two, in consecutive years irrespective of whether or not he/she passed Qualifying Examination. Those who have attempted JEE in 2010 or earlier are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012. Candidates who have taken admission (irrespective of whether or not they continued in any of the programmes) or accepted the admission by paying the registration fee at any of the IITs, IT-BHU Varanasi or ISM Dhanbad, are not eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2012.
If a candidate is expecting the results of the Qualifying Examination in 2012, his/her admission will only be provisional until he/she submits the relevant documents. The admission will be cancelled if the documents are not submitted in original to the concerned institute on or before September 30, 2012.
Reservation: As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories including SC/ST/OBC/PD categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. Benefit of reservation shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective central list published by the Government of India. In case the seats reserved for SC/ST/PD candidates are not filled, a limited number of candidates are admitted to a Preparatory Course of one-year duration on the basis of a further relaxation of admission criteria. Admission is given to the candidates in the preparatory course provided (i) the seats reserved for the respective category are vacant (ii) candidates satisfy minimum norms, and (iii) candidates have not undergone the Preparatory Course earlier. On successful completion of the course, the students will be offered a direct admission to the undergraduate programmes in July/August 2013, against the unfilled reserved seats for IIT-JEE 2012.
Application: Application may be submitted Online or Offline. The process of online application will start on 31st October, 2011. Details will be available at the IIT websites. Online application facility will be available till December 10, 2011.
Application can be submitted Offline using the prescribed Optical Machine Readable (OMR) Application Form which can be obtained by payment of the prescribed fee in cash at identified bank branches from 11th November, 2011. The cost of OMR Application form, including processing charges of  200/- will be  1800/- for GE/OBC Male candidates,  1000/- for SC/ST/PD Male candidates and   200/- for all Female candidates. ISAT 2012 for BTech admission at IIST


The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), located at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram-695547, under the Department of Space, Government of India, the first Space University of Asia, offering courses from Undergraduate to Doctoral level in Space Science Technology will hold the IIST Admission Test (ISAT) 2012, for admission to the B Tech Programmes in Aerospace Engineering, Avionics and Physical Sciences, offered by the Institute, from 9 am to 12 noon on 21st April, 2012 (Saturday) at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Dispur, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi & Vishakapatnam.
The Online Registration for ISAT 2012 will commence on 1st November, 2011. A total of 156 seats were available for the three Programmes in 2011 with 59 seats for B Tech in Aerospace Engineering, 58 for B Tech in Avionics and 39 for B Tech in Physical Sciences.
Assistance is provided to all B Tech students to cover the cot of education, boarding, lodging and health care. On successful completion of the course, with prescribed academic standards, the students will be absorbed as Scientists/Engineers in ISRO.
ISAT is an All India Admission Test, open to all eligible students who have completed the prescribed qualifiying examination under the (10+2) pattern from a recognised board or pre-university. Question Paper framed for ISAT is of objective type and consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The detailed syllabi for the subjects will be included in the ISAT Brochure to be made available in the website www.iist.ac.in
B.Tech. Programmes.
1. B.Tech. (AEROSPACE ENGINEERING) : is a 4-year under-graduate degree programme oriented towards the needs of space technology, and has significant overlap with Mechanical Engineering, including Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Sciences, and Space Dynamics. This is similar to programmes of the same title available in many reputed Institutions in India and abroad.
People with B.Tech. degree in Aerospace Engineering can further specialize in Flight Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Thermal and Propulsion, Structure and Design, and Manufacturing Science...
2. B.Tech. (AVIONICS) : is a 4-year under-graduate degree programme comprising of subjects of study in Electronics and Communications Engineering programmes, in addition to study of Advanced Electronics in Digital Communication, Control Systems and Computer Systems used in Aerospace Systems.
People with B.Tech. degree in Avionics can later specialize in areas like DSP, RF & Communication, Antenna, Power Electronics, Micro Electronics, Control Systems etc.
3. B.Tech. (PHYSICAL SCIENCES) : is a 4-year under-graduate degree programme oriented towards application of basic sciences in Space Science and Technology. The programme lays a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and gives exposure to important applications of space technology such as Remote Sensing and GIS, Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Earth System Sciences.
People with B.Tech. degree in Physical Sciences can later specialize in areas like Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences, Solid Earth Science, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Remote Sensing & GIS, and Chemical Systems ….

Candidates must ensure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions for appearing in ISAT while applying.
