AIPGMEE on January 8


 All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has invited applications for All India Post Graduate Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2012), for admission under the 50% seats quota for MD/MS/Diploma and MDS Courses In Medical and Dental colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.
The All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination will be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on 8th January, 2012 (Sunday) from 10 am to 1.30 pm, at Ahmedabad (Code 01), Bangaluru (02), Bhopal (03), Bhubaneshwar (04), Chandigarh (05), Chennai (06), Delhi (07), Goa (08), Guwahati (09), Jodhpur (10), Kolkata (11), Mumbai (12), Noida (13), Ranchi (14) and Thiruvananthapuram (15). 
Eligibility: Applicant must be an Indian National and should hold an M.B.B.S Degree from a recognized Medical college (See Appendix-III of the Prospectus that is available at http://www.aiimsexams.org/#) or a foreign Medical Degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and should have obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing Compulsory Rotating Internship.
Those who have obtained their MBBS Degree from the Medical Colleges which are not recognized by Medical Council of India are not eligible. However, those after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical Degree recognized by MCI), undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and who are likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2012 can take up this examination, subject to completing the compulsory rotating internship and obtaining full registration on or before 31st March, 2012. Candidate shall produce a certificate from the Head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2012.
Candidates who have obtained MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus. Application Fee: The cost of online Application-cum-Examination fee is Rs.1000/- For SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs.800/-
Submission of Application: A candidate can submit application only On-Line at www.aiimsexams.org latest by 5 pm on 21.12.2011. After selecting the online registration, the details asked have to be filled in step by step. Applicants can pay the application fee through a challan form that can be downloaded from website, while applying on-line. The fee can be remitted in any branch of State Bank of India. Transaction Processing Fee (as applicable) will be payable to the Bank by the candidate. Candidates are required to bring AIIMS copy of Challan Form to the Examination Hall on the day of Examination and Deposit the same with Invigilator at the time of attendance. Candidates are not required to send any documents, including Registration slip to AIIMS. No candidates should register more than one application.
Acknowledgement of successful Online Registration will be forwarded to applicants through SMS. Applicants may check position regarding status of Application form on the website www.aiimsexams.org .
Admit Card: The status of Admit Card will be available at www.aiims.ac.inand www.aiims.edu as well as www.aiimsexams.org after 28.12.2011. If the status of a candidate’s Admit Card is not available on website, he/she should immediately write to the Assistant Controller of Examinations, AIIMS, New Delhi-110608 along with full particulars of the Registration of application form.
Reporting for Examination: Candidates should report at the allotted centre of examination at 8.30 am on the day of examination. No. candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 9.55 am. Candidates should not bring their own Pens to the Examination Centre. It will be provided to the candidates by the Institute, before the commencement of the examination.
No candidate should carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material except the Admit Card (without envelope) inside the hall. If a candidate is found to be copying/ conversing with other candidates/to have in his/her possession papers, notes or books, he/she shall be disqualified from taking this Examination and the next one or two such Examinations according to the nature of offence and its intimation will be sent to the M.C.I./D.C.I./State M.C. /D.C. and the concerned Medical/Dental College for necessary action.
Examination: There will be one paper in English medium only, of 3½ hours duration having 300 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), consisting of Pre-Clinical, Para-Clinical and Clinical subjects.
The tentative number of questions from each subject will be: Anatomy (15), Physiology (15), Biochemistry (15), Pharmacology (20), Pathology (25), Microbiology (20), Forensic Medicine (10) Social and Preventive Medicine (25), Medicine Dermatology and Venerelogy (37), Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics & Anesthesia (46), Pediatrics (15), Obstetrics and Gynecology (20), Radiodiagonosis and Radiotherapy (12), Biophysics (5), Ophthalmology (10), Psychiatry (10).
The questions will be single response objective type. Each answer with correct response will fetch 4 marks. One mark will be deducted for each wrong response. No mark will be given for the questions not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the competitive entrance examination, Candidate scoring less negative marks will be placed higher in rank and then if the tie continues, the older will get preference over younger.
Result: The result of successful candidates with their rank numbers is expected to be declared by the 15th February, 2012 and will be displayed on the notice board of Examination Section, AIIMS. It will be available atwww.aiimsexams.org. It will also be published in prominent newspapers of the country. Those who figure in the merit are required to download the Rank Letter from www.aiimsexams.org as the rank letter will not be sent through postal service. A downloadable Rank Letter will be hosted on websitewww.aiimsexaminations.org only two days before the commencement of counseling. It will be the responsibility of candidate to download the rank letter before the counseling.
The Institute will not intimate the individual unsuccessful candidates regarding the result of entrance test and no correspondence on this subject will be entertained. However, the marks of individual candidate will be available on AIIMS website on completion of the admission process. There is no provision for rechecking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets and no query in this regard will be entertained.
Candidates securing less than 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45% in case of PH candidates) in the Entrance Examination will not be considered for admission and their names will not be included in the merit list. A waiting list containing 40 percent of the merit list will also be declared from amongst the successful candidates who have secured not less than 50 percent marks in the competitive examination (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45% in case of PH candidates). There is 15% reservation for SC candidates and 7.5% for ST candidates in 50% All India PG Quota Seats.
Seat Allotment: The allotment of seats will be made through personal appearance as per 3200 Point Reservation Roster. Candidates will be called in batches in the order of merit as per Time Schedule for 1st Round of Counseling to be hosted at www.mohfw.nic.in after declaration of the result. The 'Time Schedule' for 2nd Round of counseling will be also hosted later on at the said website after completion of 1st Round of Counseling. The counseling shall only be done according to the Category Rank (UR/SC/ST/PH) and not by the Overall Rank. No separate intimation regarding counseling (allotment by personal appearance) will be sent. Successful candidates are directed to be in touch with the websites of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and All India Institutes of Medical Sciences till the date of completion of the admission process for PG Courses, fixed by the 'Medical Council of India'. Those appearing for allotment by personal appearance should bring the following documents in original along with an attested copy of the documents:
(i)  Admit Card issued by AIIMS
(ii)  Rank letter issued by AIIMS.
(iii)  Mark Sheets of MBBS/BDS 1st, 2nd and 3rd Professional Examinations.
(iv)  MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate.
(v)  Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the Head of Institution or College that the candidate will be completing the Internship by 31st March, 2012.
(vi)  Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI or DCI/State Medical or Dental Council.
(vii)  High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate in proof of date or birth.
(viii)  Candidate should also bring the following certificate, if applicable :
a. SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority and should be in English or Hindi in language. Sub caste should be clearly mentioned in the certificate.
b.  OBC certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the Central List of OBC. The OBC candidates should not belong to Creamy Layer. The OBC certificate must be in the format as mentioned in Appendix V.
c.  Orthopedic Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Boards.
