ICAR: All India Entrance Exam 2012

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has invited applications from Indian Nationals, in the prescribed format, for ICAR’s 17th AIEEA-UG-2012 and AIEEA-PG-2012 on 100% seats at ICAR-Deemed Universities (Bachelors degree at NDRI Karnal only, while Masters degree at IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE), and on 15% seats (tentative) for Bachelors degree and 25% seats (tentative) for Masters degree at State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural University Imphal, Central Universities with Agricultural Faculty (Banaras Hindu University, Viswa Bharati, Nagaland University and Aligarh Muslim University (for PG only) and SHIATS Allahabad for the academic session 2012-13. Bachelor Degree programmes (viz. BSc / BTech / BFSc etc.) are in the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Food Science, Agricultural Marketing, Banking & Co-operation. Qualifying Examination: 3.2.1. For AIEEA-PG-2012: Bachelor’s degree (or appearing in final year examination), in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic and allied sciences under 10+2+5 or 10+2+4 years degree programmes, (Few seats are also available for candidates having Bachelors degree with 10+2+3 year degree programme) with required Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 6.60/10, 3.25/5, 2.60/4 for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) categories the said requirement is an OGPA of 5.60/10, 2.75/5, 2.20/4 respectively. In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/PH the requirement is 50% marks (Equivalence between OGPA and pecentage of marks will not be acceptable). For admission in MVSc programmes, the candidate must have completed BVSc/ BVSc & AH with Internship before the date of registration for admission in the concerned University. 4. National Talent Scholarship (NTS) is awarded to candidates selected through AIEEA-UG-2012 examination and if joining an Agricultural University located outside their state of domicile. 5. ICAR-JRF(Post Graduate Studies-PGS): Based on the merit in the AIEEA-PG-2011 examination, about 475 ICAR-Junior Research Fellowships for postgraduate studies (ICARJRF(PGS)) in 20 major subject groups are awarded for two years in Agricultural Universities including State Agricultural Universities, CAU and CUs with agriculture faculty, SHIATS Allahabad and ICAR-DUs, provided their Bachelor degree is not from the same AU (except NDRI Karnal).That means JRF will be given to only those candidates who join the Master degree programme in the University other than from where he/she has obtained his/her Bachelor’s degree except at NDRI, Karnal where admissions for 100% seats are made on All India basis through ICAR Entrance Examination. Candidates, currently studying for their Masters degree in 1st year, can also appear in AIEEA-PG-2011 examination for securing ICAR-JRF(PGS). However, if a ICAR-JRF(PGS) holder seeks fresh admission, entire amount of fellowship received by him/her shall have to be refunded with interest and he/she will not be entitled for fresh ICAR-JRF(PGS). 6. Reservation: 15% seats in all subjects are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Horizontal reservation of 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for Under-Privileged States (UPS) category is also available. Reservation for OBC in Central Educational Institutions/ Universities will be as per Government of India/ Hon'ble SC directives/ University rules. Reservation in PH and UPS categories will be horizontal across all categories, i.e. such candidates would draw their seat from the SC/ST/OBC/GEN categories to which they may belong. 7. Cost of Information Bulletin with Application form: AIEEA-UG-2012: Rs. 500 for General, OBC and UPS categories and Rs. 250/- for SC, ST and PH categories. Admit card can only be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites from 2nd January 2012.Sending Admit cards by post has been discontinued. Bring the admit card at the test center along with at least one original (not photocopied / scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification.

MBA 2012 at IIT Kharagpur

West Bengal JEE on April 15


West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, AQ-13/1, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700 091, has invited applications from Indian Citizens for admission to Under Graduate courses in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Medical/Dental and Pharmacy in Universities/ Colleges in West Bengal for the academic session 2012-2013. Selection to the Programmes will be on the basis of a Joint Entrance Examination, to be conducted by the Board.Applicant must be a citizen of India and must have passed the H.S (10+2) or its equivalent examination
(a) For B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch: General candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories)
(b) For Pharmacy: General candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories).
(c) For Marine Engineering: At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together and 50% marks in English either in 10th standard or in 10+2 standard.

For MBBS and BDS courses, in addition to aforesaid eligibility criteria, the General candidates must secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, West Bengal.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2012 will be allowed to sit for JEM-2012 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above.
Age: Candidates must be 17 years of age or above, as on 31.12.2012. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.07.2012.
Residential Requirements: Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Government Engineering/Technology Colleges, Govt. Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 years as on 31.12.2011 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal.
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/PC candidates will be as per State Govt. Rules.
Schedule of Examination: The Joint Entrance Examination, 2012 (JEM-2012) will be held on 15.04.2012 (Sunday) at Centres located in West Bengal and Tripura. Eligibility UG: For the Under-Graduate Programmes, applicant should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC and PWD). Candidates who have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test subject to passing the qualifying examination at the time of his/her admission and should be able to submit its proof. Age of candidate should not be more than 20 years in case of General/OBC candidates (22 years in case of SC/ST and persons with Disability) as on 1st July, 2012.
The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination at the time of his/her admission and be able to submit its proof.
Eligibility PG: For Post-Graduate Programmes, applicant should have obtained a LL.B/B.L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognised University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST /OBC and persons with Disability). Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. Reservation will be subject to state reservation at the University concerned.
Examination Pattern: CLAT Paper for Under-Graduate Programme will be of two hours duration and will have 200 multiple-choice questions of one mark each. Questions will be from English including Comprehension (40 Marks), General Knowledge/Current Affairs (50 Marks), Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) (20 Marks) and Legal Aptitude (50 Marks) and Logical Reasoning (40 Marks).
The Paper for Post-Graduate Programme will also be of two hours duration and the maximum mark is 200. There will be 100 Multiple-choice Questions of 1 mark each, from Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory. There will be 10 short-answer questions each of 10 marks and carrying a maximum of 100 marks.
There is no negative marking for wrong answers. In event of tie between two or more candidates, tie will be broken by the following procedure and order considering the higher marks in the section of short-answer questions in CLAT-2012, Higher age and Computerized draw of lots in that order. Detailed syllabus is available at http://www.clat.ac.in/pattern.aspx

The National Law University Delhi will conduct All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)-2012 on 6th May (Sunday), 2012 from 3.30 P.M. to 5.00 P.M. for admission to B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes to be conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna.

Eligibility:

(a) Age: 19 to 23 years as on 01 January 2013 i.e. born between 02 January 1990 and 01 January 1993 (Both dates inclusive).
(Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 25 years i.e. born between 02 January 1988 and 01 January 1994 (Both dates inclusive).
(b) Educational Qualifications:  Graduates (Three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 60% aggregate  marks in all papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level   OR
BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% aggregate marks in all papers put together.
(c) Physical Standards: (i) Height and Weight: Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min - 99 cms. Max -120 cms. Thigh Length : Max - 64 cms. Sitting Height: Min - 81.5 cms. Max - 96 cms.
(ii) Vision: (a) Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia. (b) Manifest Myopia - Nil. (c) LASIK Surgery for correction of vision is admissible in Transport and Helicopter streams of Short Service Commission (Flying Branch) if the following conditions are fulfilled at the time of Air Force medical examination:-
(i) LASIK Surgery should not have been carried out before the age of 20 years, (ii) The axial length of the eye should not be more than 25.5mm as measured by lOL master.(iii) At least twelve months should have lapsed post uncomplicate stable LASIK. No history or evidence of any complication, (iv) The post LASIK comeal thickness as measured by a corneal pachymeter should not be less than 450 microns, (v) Individuals with high refractive errors (>6D) prior to LASIK are to be excluded. Candidates must not suffer from colour or night blindness.

(i) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}: Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
(ii) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}. Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies.
UES-2013 Entry:
(a)Age:18 to 28 years as on 01 July 2013 i.e. Born between 02 July 1985 to 01 July 1995 (both dates inclusive).
(b) Educational Qualifications:
i) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics)  {AE (L)}: Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they are presently in their Pre-final year of four year BE / B Tech degree qualification from a recognised University.
(ii) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}. Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they are presently in their Pre-final year of four year BE / B Tech degree qualification from a recognised University.
Application must be accompanied with the following enclosures:
(a) One self addressed envelope (In block capitals)  (size- 23x10 cm) with Rs 27/- postage stamp.
(b) One self addressed envelope ( In block capitals) (size -23x10 cm) with Rs 51- postage stamp.
(c) Two unattested recent colour photographs similar to the one pasted on the application form with name of the applicant on the reverse.

BITSAT 2012


Birla Institute of Technology and Science admission test (BITSAT) is a computer related Online Test. The test carried out for the admission to every Integrated First Degree courses of BITS Pilani, BITS Hyderabad and BITS Goa campus of the deemed university. This university honors it own degrees. This is one of the prominent engineering institutes in India. It offers a number of bachelor’s courses to the students.
Structure of BITSAT
BITSAT exam includes 150 questions with 4 alternatives. The questions are of objective type. 3 marks is given for every correct answer. One mark penalty is for the incorrect answer. If the applicant did not attend any question, there is no mark for that question. There are four sections like Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning and Mathematics. There is no time limit for individual parts of the examination. The aspirant can go back and modify any of their answer among the 150 questions.
Once the aspirant answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any anyone), he/she has a choice of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is time. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology are the subjects included in these extra questions. Four questions from each section. If the aspirant selected for extra questions, he/she cannot go back for a modification of any of the previous answered 150 questions. The instructions and questions are in English language.

GPAT 2012: Apply Online from Jan 14


Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT-2012), the all India Examination will be conducted by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara on behalf of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi on 6th May 2012 (Sunday).
The registration (process for application by the Applicants) will be ONLINE for GPAT-2012 Examination (the actual examination will be a paper/pencil examination) commencing from 14th January 2012 (Saturday).
The Scores in Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) have been in use till the year 2010 for admission in Master’s Programme in Pharmacy (M. Pharm) and also for awarding fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy Graduates along with engineering graduates
Pattern of GPAT Examination:
GPAT-2012 Examination will be similar to that of GPAT-2011 Examination, wherein the candidate will mark the correct answer out of four options in an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening the appropriate bubble with the help of pencil

GPAT Qualification:
Admission to postgraduate programmes with MHRD and other government scholarships/assistantships in pharmacy colleges/institutes is open to those who qualify through GPAT. Candidates, who qualify GPAT examination and have Four years Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, are eligible for admission to Masters/Doctoral programmes in Pharmacy. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. However, candidates with Master’s degree in Pharmacy may seek admission to relevant Ph.D. programmes with scholarship/assistantship without appearing in the GPAT examination. Some institutions specify GPAT qualification as mandatory even for admission of self-financing students to postgraduate programmes. GPAT qualified candidates are also eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories and CSIR/UGC sponsored projects
Eligibility:
The following candidates are eligible to appear for GPAT-2012:
Bachelor’s degree holders in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry candidates) and those who are in the final year of B. Pharmacy course are eligible for appearing in GPAT-2012 examination.
Application Fee & Submission Process:
(a) The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for General & OBC Category candidates, and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD* Category candidates. The application fee is inclusive of bank charges. Application fee once remitted to the bank will be NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances.

(b) The mode of applying for GPAT-2012 Examination will be ONLINE. The detailed process of ONLINE application is described at appropriate place in the website 
http://www.gpat.in. Once the ONLINE application process is completed by a candidate, a printout of the completed application form having photograph and signature of the applicant along with the original GPAT copy of the bank challan has to be sent to GPAT Office, The M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara. The last date for receipt of the duly completed printout of application form at GPAT Office is 27th February 2012 (Monday) up to 17.00 Hrs.
(c) The application details (i.e. personal details like corrections in name, date of birth, category etc. and other details like examination city/choice of examination center etc.) will not be modified under any circumstance. However, in case of extraordinary situations, a change will be entertained on request in writing, on case to case basis by remitting a fee of Rs. 400/- in favor of “GPAT” as DD/cheque payable at Vadodara.

Amrita University B.Tech Entrance 2012


The Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, known as Amrita University is all set to issue notification for Engineering Admissions 2012 academic session. Amrita University runs three major engineering schools (campus) — Bangalore, Coimbatore and Amritapuri(Kollam), Kerala.


The Entrance for Amrita University B.Tech Entrance 2012 admission will be held on Sunday, 22nd April 2012




Amrita University usually conducts B.Tech Entrance test in 78 cities across the country. The duration of the Examination is 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM). There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each question carries 3 marks. Negative mark (-1) will be awarded for each wrong answer.





Entrance Examination Pattern
The duration of the Examination is 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM). There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. The question booklet will be in English. Each question carries 3 marks. Negative mark (-1) will be awarded for each wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria for 2012 Entrance Examination

A three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education.


Note: Those who appear for the above examinations in April / May 2012 and expect to secure minimum marks as above, may also apply.

Amrita University B.Tech Entrance 2012 Hall Tickets:
The University will start issuing the hall tickets 30 days before the examination, mentioning the candidate’s registration number and examination centre allotted and the details will be available in the University website. Hall tickets of all Candidates will be uploaded to the university website three days prior to the exam. If needed, candidates can download their hall tickets, entering their application number and date of birth.

Ph.D 2012 at BARC


Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has invited applications for admission to Ph.D. program commencing in August 2012, in Basic Sciences such as Physical, Chemical and Life Science under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University.
A limited number of Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), awarded by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), will be offered to those selected for the Ph.D program. DAE fellowship is tenable for four years. The fellowship amount is Rs.16,000/- per month for first and second year, and Rs.18,000/- per month for subsequent years besides house rent allowance and medical benefits as per rules.
The selected candidates can also pursue the Ph.D program with fellowships from other sources like UGC-CSIR, DBT, ICAR, ICMR and other national agencies. A few meritorious candidates may be offered DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme-Ph.D (DGFS - Ph.D) Fellowship. It carries a fellowship of  Rs.20,000/- p.m. in the first year and Rs.24,000/- p.m. in succeeding years.
Eligibility:
(a) Qualifying Degree and other academic qualifications:
Those having M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology or related science subjects with minimum 60%* marks in MSc as well as in BSc are eligible to apply.
*Applicants for Physics discipline should have learnt Physics and Mathematics up to BSc or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five years integrated MSc.
*Applicants for Chemistry discipline should have Mathematics up to XII std and Physics up to BSc or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five years integrated MSc.
*Applicants in Physics and Chemistry opting to be considered on the basis of GATE Score should have a valid GATE Score in Physics and Chemistry respectively.
*For Biology and related disciplines MSc in Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Botany, Zoology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Animal Science, Life Sciences and Biosciences.
*MSc applicants in Life Sciences should have Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry up to BSc or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of five year integrated MSc with minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in MSc as well as in BSc. Applicants in life sciences opting to be considered on the basis of GATE Score should have valid GATE Score in Life Sciences or Biotechnology.
Those having MSc with specialization in subjects like Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Marine Biology and Home Science etc and BE/BTech/MTech in Biotechnology/Genetic Engineering are not eligible.
*A minimum of 60% marks means the marks as per the ordinance of the respective university.
Those whose final results of qualifying degree are awaited can also apply. In the event of selection, mark sheet of final result confirming eligibility as above, should be submitted by Nov 30, 2012.
(b)Age limit: The candidates desirous of availing DAE Junior Research Fellowships should have born on or after August 1, 1986. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants. Physically challenged persons are eligible for an age relaxation of 10 years over and above their respective category.
(c) Nationality: Applicant must be a citizen of India.
Selection Process:Selection for the Ph.D. program is a two-step process: Written Test to short-list candidates followed by a Selection Interview of short-listed candidates.
Screening for Physical, Chemical and Life Sciences shall be on the basis of one of the following:
(i) GATE-2011/GATE-2012 score or
(ii) Written Test-2012 score of the BARC Training School.
BARC Training School Written Test: It is conducted for short-listing candidates for interview for admission to BARC Training Schools (BARC TS). Those who have also applied for admission to BARC TS and have opted for its written test to seek admission to the OCES/DGFS-2012 program of the BARC TS must state their BARC TS application number on the accompanying application form, else their application is liable to be rejected.

3 Year LL.B : First allotment


The Centralised Allotment Process for 3 year LL.B Course in the four Government Law Colleges of the State for the year 2011-'12 commenced on 09.12.2011. The option registration ended at 5 pm on 15.12.2011. Based on the options, the first allotment for admission to 3 year LL.B Course 2011-12 has been published. Details of allotment is available in the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in
The details such as name of the candidate, roll number, allotment details, reservations allowed, tuition fee to be remitted etc. are available in the home page of the candidate. The candidate shall take a print out of the Allotment Letter.
Candidates who receive allotment to Government Law Colleges for 3 Year LL.B Course in the first allotment should join the allotted colleges on the 19th and 20th of December 2011. Colleges shall furnish the non-joining report to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations before 4 p.m. on 21.12.2011. The candidates should remit the fees at the allotted college at the time of admission. The candidates who do not join the College within the stipulated time will lose their allotment and will not be considered for further allotments.
