Summer Internship Programme at CGCRI, Kolkata


Applications have been invited by Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata for admission to Summer Internship Programme of 6-8 weeks duration during summer vacation for Engineering (3rd / 4th year BTech, 1st / 2nd Year MTech) or Science ( 4th / 5th year MSc) students.
Eligibility and application procedure:
 The student must be pursuing Engineering (3rd / 4th year BTech ,1st / 2nd Year MTech) or Science ( 4th / 5th year MSc) in a recognized University / Institute / College in the relevant area.
 Candidates should have secured at least 60% marks throughout the academic career (from High School onwards).
 The student must have adequate theoretical background (through regular coursework) in relevant area.
 Bio-Data (as per enclosed proforma) and academic records of the student mentioning percentage of marks obtained in different examinations from Madhyamik / School Final onwards indicating the name of the college / university / institute where studied.
 Original copy of the Recommendation Letter of the Principal / Registrar / Head of the Institution / University, mentioning the training programme sought and the date & period of the proposed training.
Applications are to be sent by post in the following address or may be delivered to the Receiving & Dispatch Section, CSIR-CGCRI. The envelope containing the above documents is to be super scribed as TRAINING / Project Work (Dept./University/Inst/ period of training).
 Application with all the above mentioned documents along with recommendation letter as per pro-forma (Sample Request letter) must be sent by POST ONLY to The Head, Programme Management Division (PMD), CSIR-Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, 196, Raja S.C. Mullick Road, Kolkata- 700032.
Final applications must be received by the Head, Programme Management Division (PMD) latest by March 15, 2012. The list of selected candidates (including wait listed ones) will be notified through CSIR-CGCRI website by the first week of April 2012.
Training Fees & Accommodation:
 There are no fees or tuition costs associated with participation in the summer training / project work. A few students may be offered stipend, if possible, on
merit basis.
• The students have to make their own arrangements for accommodation in Kolkata, if selected. Limited provision for accommodation may be available for outstation candidates.
• The training period will be minimum 6 weeks to maximum 8 weeks.
