MTech Admissions at IIST

Applications have been invited for admission to MTech Programmes at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Valiamala (PO), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala for the year 2012-13.

MTech Programmes are offered in Propulsion (Aerospace Engineering Department- Dept Code: AE-01), Digital Signal Processing (Avionics Department- Dept Code: AV-02), RF and Microwave Engineering (Avionics Department- Dept Code: AV-03) and Optical Engineering (Physics Department- Dept Code: PH-04). There are six seats for each MTech Programme.

Eligibility :

Applicants must hold BE / B Tech / MSc or equivalent in the relevant area with a first class or equivalent. Applicant should also have a valid GATE Score in the relevant area.

* MTech Propulsion in Aerospace Engineering Department : BE / BTech or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering. Subject Code of GATE should be AE/ME.

* MTech in RF and Microwave Engg and MTech in Digital Signal Processing under the Avioinics Department : BE / BTech or equivalent in Electrical Engg / Electronics Engg / Electronics and Communication Engg. Subject Code of GATE should be EC.

* MTech in Optical Engineering in the Physic Department : MSc in Physics / Applied Physics or equivalent or BE / BTech in Engineering Physics. Subject Code of GATE should be PH.

Those who are yet to appear for the final examination of the qualifying Degree and whose results are likely to be declared by 1st July, 2012 can also apply. Upper age limit as on 17.5.2012 will be 28 years. Age relaxation as applicable will be given to SC / ST / Persons with Disability as per Government of India Rules. Reservation policy as per Government of India Rules is applicable.

Selected candidates will be given Scholarships as per AICTE norms. They will also be provided accommodation in the institute campus. Students will be required to assist the Departments in academic activities as and when required. They will have to pay tuition / registration fee and fee for the boarding / lodging / medical facilities etc., as per IIST rules. Duly filled Application should reach "The Administrative Officer, IIST, Valiamala (PO), Thiruvananthapuram-695547" along with attested copies of Certificates / Testimonials and a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for Women applicants and SC/ST applicants) drawn in favour of 'Registrar, Indian Institute of Space Science Technology', payable at Thiruvananathapuram, on or before 21st May, 2012. 

Applicants will be short-listed based on academic records and other relevant criteria, like GATE score. List of short-listed candidates for written test / interview will be displayed in IIST website on 28th May 2012. No separate call letter will be despatched to the short listed applicants. Selection will be based on a written test / interview in their relevant areas to be conducted at IIST, Trivandrum on 18th June 2012. Selected candidates will be intimated within a week of the final interview. The above results will also be displayed in the IIST website.
