Fees in Govt-owned SF colleges to be cut

The Kerala Government has decided to reduce the fees in government owned self-financing colleges, Education and Culture Minister M A Baby said here today.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, he suggested that the Kerala Private Self-Financing Engineering College Management Association, which had demanded an increase in fees, do likewise.

Baby announced the conferring of the Raja Ravi Varma Award by the State Governemnt on renowned artist C N Karunakaran at the function. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh.
