About 12 lakh engineering aspirants across the country will take the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on Sunday.Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE), the exam score is accepted by premier engineering colleges of the country. Some institutes that accept the score are the National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), besides a few other central and state-funded institutions. Last year, over 9.5 lakh students had appeared for the examination.
The entrance examination will be held in two phases on Sunday. During the morning session, students will appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The score will be taken into account for admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE) courses.
The second session will have papers on Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for students aspiring to join Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning courses.
Students looking for a seat in coveted institutes have devised strategies to clear the exam. Compared to other exams, AIEEE is considered lengthier.
