Applications invited for MCA Entrance

Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Course in Kerala in the AICTE approved institutions for the academic year 2009-10.

A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level or a pass in any recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.

Candidates who are appearing/have appeared for the qualifying examination this year are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination subject to the condition that the entire mark list of the qualifying examination shall be produced by the candidate at the time of admission.

Seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes as per the existing reservation principles of the Government.

The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode on 23.08.2009 (Sunday). It will be of two-hour duration and will consist of 150 Objective Type Questions covering the following areas of study at the graduate level. (a) Mathematics (b) Statistics (c) Physics (d) Chemistry (e) General Knowledge (f) General English and (g) Fundamentals of Computer Awareness.

The prospectus and application form will be available from 13-07-2009 on the website www.cee-kerala.org (See clause 8 of the Prospectus). Candidates can apply in the online application form provided in the web site www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee at any SBT branch by using the chalan available in the printout of the online application form.

Candidates residing outside Kerala state can remit the application fee by way of demand draft drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee for General/SEBC candidates is Rs.800/- and for SC/ST candidates is Rs.400/-.Application fee once remitted will not be refunded it any circumstances.

Candidates seeking admission should take the printout of the application after entering the details online, and forward the application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001,either by Registered post or by hand delivery on or before 5 pm on 31.07.2009 (Friday).
