The activities related to the second round of allotments to Professional Degree courses, Kerala will come to an end at 5 pm Friday . The options in the ‘Home Page’ of candidates at the closing time will be the basis of allotments/re-allotments in the second round to be announced on 4th August . Students may take note of the following while adding/deleting/changing (higher) options.
The allotment to be announced on 4th August 2009 will be the last Government allotment to this category of colleges against Government seats. Candidates getting allotted/re-allotted to Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges in the second round will not have any higher options retained for the next allotment. If they do not join the college based on second allotment, the fee remitted by them will be refunded. However, they will be out of the allotment process.
Those who take admission in the Colleges concerned can cancel their admission till 14.08.2009 in which case, they will get the refund of fees remitted. However, candidates joining Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges, desirous of taking TC from the College after 14.8.09 will have to pay the entire fee for the course to obtain TC and other documents.

Fresh Recruitments @ Campus from Jan 2010: Infosys
Banking on global economic recovery by mid 2010, India's second largest IT exporter Infosys Technologies Limited (Infosys) today said it looks at visiting campuses across the country from January 2010 for new recruitment.
The company, which skipped its 'campus visit' this year in the wake of the slowdown in the economy, is looking at training 18,000 of its employees under the 'extended' mode till January next. Currently about 1000 to 2000 freshers every month are being put on training, which has been extended from three-and-a-half months to six months, till the 18000-odd recruits are through by January next.
However, Company CEO and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan justified the changed strategy, saying it saw (the economic meltdown) as a good opportunity to enhance the training for those who will join work (in the company) after six months. Previously, the freshers' were put on training in one technology but now they are (put on) training in two technologies.
''They are better equipped and are more flexible as they are trained in multiple technologies,'' Kris Gopalakrishnan quipped at a media interaction here today.
The company, Kris Gopalakrishnan said, was pitching on recruitment and expansion next year hopeful of the revival of the economy in the second quarter next fiscal. As such,Mr.Kris justified the hiatus in its recruitment since January this year. It is now likely to resume visiting the University Campus early January 2010 coinciding with the eight semester of their curricula.
Admitting the economic slowdown had affected the growth rate of the leading companies, including Infosys, he however, pointed to the better than expected first quarter results of the IT leaders, including his company.
The IT & ITES industry will continue to grow despite the financial slowdown and the rate is likely to pick up mid 2010. Betting big on its investment in Andhra Pradesh, Gopalakrishnan said there was rapid expansion in IT & ITES at Hyderabad over the last ten years and there was great potential in Tier II cities, including Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
''Work has started on its second campus at the SEZ though the construction is in its initial stage. Some clearances are needed, which will be through, and the second campus at Hyderabad is expected to be ready by next 12 months. The company's first campus at HitechCity with 10,000 personnel is inadequate".
" However, the company has no immediate plans to expand its activities in these Tier II cities of Andhra Pradesh he said.
Kris like Bill Gates disfavoured protectionism and indicated that US President Barack Obama's strategy, if put into action, could impact the recovery of IT and ITES, especially exports. Cusat BTech second allotment today
The second allotment of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) BTech admission this year will be made on Wednesday ( before 4pm) , according to Ignatius Kunjumon, Director of Centre for Information Resource Management which is controlling the technical part of the counseling process. The allotment is made from the existing rank list prepared by Cusat after its Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009.
The second allotment process of Cusat is different from the second allotment of KEAM. Cusat is not allowing any fresh option registration or changing of priorities as part of the second allotment, which is allowed in KEAM. If sufficient students do not join the courses, then a third allotment list will be published by the varsity from the existing rank last.
However, an allegation has already cropped up that the varsity is doing injustice to students who have joined the varsity with the allotted inferior course. They miss their higher options , it is pointed out.
It is understood that a lot of Cusat BTech seats are remaining vacant after the first allotment with a number of allotted candidates staying away from joining the allotted courses as the deadline for the same expired on July 20. Hence the second allotment is expected to throw open the gates of BTech courses to a lot of aspirants in the waiting list. The admission process is expected to take place on August 4, 5 and 6, according to Cusat sources.
The activities related to the second round of allotment to KEAM-2009 is scheduled to continue only till 5 pm on 31.7.2009 (Friday) and the second allotment of KEAM is all set to be announced on August 4.

KEAM Second Allotment : What is to be done?
The activities related to the second round of allotments to Professional Degree courses, Kerala will continue till 5 pm on 31.7.2009 (Friday) at www.cee.kerala.gov.in The options in the ‘Home Page’ of candidates at the closing time will be the basis of allotments/re-allotments in the second round to be announced on 4th August 2009.
Higher Options: The options left in the ‘Home Page’ of the candidates after the first allotment will be the Higher Options of the candidates for the second allotment. If a candidate had registered 100 options in the first round allotment and has been allotted the 51st option, options at position 1 to 50 will be the higher options of that candidate. If a candidate who has registered 100 options has not received any allotment in the first round, then all the 100 options in the Home Page of the candidate will be the Higher Options of that candidate.
If a candidate who has registered 100 options has been allotted the first option itself, there will be no higher options left for that candidate. The options from the allotted one to the last one registered will be in the deleted list.
What can be done with Higher Options?
There are different activities that the eligible candidates can carry out till the deadline on 31.7.2009 with the Higher Options.
(i) Delete all the Higher Options: If a candidate who has received an allotment in the first round is fully satisfied with that allotment and does not wish to have any further movements, he should cancel all the higher options in the Home Page. For this the candidate has to delete the priority number given against all the options, enter the number ‘0’ (Zero) in all the boxes and click the ‘UPDATE’ button to the right.
(ii) Delete some of the Higher Options: Candidate, who has received an allotment in the first round or has not received any allotment in the first round, if interested in cancelling some of the options in the Higher Options list, can do that. For this the candidate has to delete the priority number given against the options to be deleted, enter the number ‘0’ (Zero) in the box to the right of the options to be deleted and click the ‘UPDATE’ button to the right.
(iii) Rearrange the Higher Options: A candidate can change the priority of the Higher Options left. For this the candidate has to delete the existing priority number given against the option whose priority is to be changed, enter the new priority number in the box to the right of that option and click the ‘UPDATE’ button to the right.
(iv) Insert/Add New options to the Higher Options list: In the Medical and Engineering stream, there are a few new options included in the second round that were not there in the first round. A candidate interested in these options (some/all) can add them to the existing higher options list at the appropriate position ( it can be inserted/added at any point from 1 to the last available higher option) by entering the priority number for that option and clicking the ‘SAVE’ button to the right. Ensure that the existing priority numbers have changed as desired. A candidate who does not have any higher options left can also register these options.
Other conditions of allotment: Candidate who has an allotment in the first round, paid the fees, retains higher options but does not become eligible for a re-allotment in the second round, will retain the allotment received in the first round. Candidate, who has an allotment in the first round, paid fees and gets a re-allotment in the second round based on the Higher Options retained for the second round, will not be able to continue with the first allotment but will have to accept the re-allotment given in the second round.

have not registered options will not be considered for further allotments. The candidates

CEE PAY FEE TILL 25th Second allotment soon
1. The candidates who get allotment in the first allotment should remit the fee from 18th to 25th July 2009.
2. Those who fail to remit the fee on or before 25th July 2009 will lose the existing allotment and the existing higher options in all the streams.
3. Candidates allotted to MBBS/BDS course should join the colleges on 27th or 28th July 2009.
4. Candidates allotted to Engineering, Architecture or Medical courses other than MBBS/BDS shall remit fee on or before 25th July2009 but they need to join the course only after the second allotment.

Cusat invites applications for MBA Travel & Tourism
The Cochin University of Science and Technology has invited applications for admission to MBA Travel and Tourism (self-financing) Programme. The admission is based on a Management Aptitude Test. The online registration will commence from 24-07-2009 at 4.00 p.m.The eligibility is a degree in any subject recognized by the university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The registration fee is Rs.750/- + bank charges for general category candidates and Rs.375/- + bank charges for SC/ST students.
The mode of payment has to be through demand draft. The DD taken from State Bank of India or State Bank allied banks drawn in favour of Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam only will be accepted.
The test centres are Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. If the number of candidates in a particular test centre (other than Ernakulam) is less than 100, such centre/centres will be cancelled and the candidates who have chosen the cancelled test centres will have to attend the test at the Ernakulam centre.
The candidates who have already appeared for the Management Aptitude Test of CAT 2009 also have to register again for considering them for the Admission to MBA Travel and Tourism. No registration fee is required for these candidates.
The admission will be from the students of Keralite and non-Keralite category. A total of 10% of seats will set apart for students on all-India basis and the remaining for Keralites.

Offshore IIT, IIM campuses depends on faculty
India will be "open to the idea" of offshore campuses of its premier business and technological institutes when the faculty situation at Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) eases, parliament was told Tuesday.
"Setting up campuses abroad may not be immediately feasible as that would further strain the IITs' limited manpower and other resources," Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandeswari told the Rajya Sabha.
"However, as and when the faculty situation eases due to the efforts made by the IITs and IIMs to recruit new faculty, government would be open to the idea," Purandeswari said.
"The various Memoranda of Association of the IIMs, which do not at present empower them to open campuses abroad, will also need to be amended," the minister added.

NTSE 2010: Apply by August 31
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi-110016, has invited applications for the National Talent Search Examination 2010, for students studying in Class VIII only.
National Talent Search Scheme is a flagship activity of the NCERT to identify talented students, nurture their talent in areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law, by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, assistance is provided up to Ph.D. level while for professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law it is given only up to Post Graduation.
From the selection year 2010, NCERT will conduct the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class VIII only.
On the basis of NTSE, 1000 scholarships @ Rs.500/- per month will be awarded for each group of students appearing for Class VIII examinations. 15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged Group of Students each in respect of the class VIII.
Selection process is two-stage. For Stage-I, selection will be done by States/UTs through a written examination. Students who qualify in Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination to be conducted by NCERT. The States/UTs will also conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme along with the Stage-I written examination for NTS.
Students of Class VIII studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the respective Class VIII Stage I examination conducted by the States/UTs in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.
Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise two parts -(a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering Social Sciences, Sciences and Mathematics.
Stage II examination at the National level will comprise (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering Social Sciences, Sciences and Mathematics and (c) Interview. Only those candidates who qualify the written examination at the National Level will be invited for interview.

Women candidates get exam fee exemption
The fair sex never had it so good as far as government recruitment policies are concerned.
The latest instance being the decision to exempt women candidates from payment of fees for appearing in competitive examinations.
The Government has said women candidates need not pay fees in competitive examinations for direct recruitment, department competitive examinations and interview conducted by Union Public Service Commission and Staff Selection Commission.
Recently, the government had written to the secretaries of all ministries and departments at the Centre, UPSC and Staff Selection Commission to instruct all appointing authorities to scrupulously ensure better representation of women in Central government jobs.
In a series of guidelines, it said the composition of selection committees should be such which ensures women's representation. It should be mandatory to have one woman member in the selection boards for making recruitment of 10 or more vacancies and women candidates are expected to be available for the posts.
With a view to monitoring the trend in recruitment of women, all ministries and departments are requested to submit a consolidated report on the total number of posts and employees latest by August 31.

ISRO confident of Chandrayaan-I
The Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) first lunar mission Chandrayaan-I may have suffered technical setbacks within a year of its launch, but the organisation is confident that the spacecraft will complete its mission.
"The failure of electronic components within a year of a satellite's launch is one of the risks that a mission faces. Once the satellite crosses one year, then one can expect stable operation for several years to come," M. Annadurai, project director of Chandrayaan-I and II, told IANS from Bangalore on phone.
Chandrayaan-I's onboard star sensor -- a critical component that guides the spacecraft -- failed May 16 owing to heat around the moon. What compounded the problem was that the standby unit also failed.
Though another component on the spacecraft -- the Bus Management Unit -- also failed, the satellite was able to switch on the standby unit.
To manage the situation, ISRO hit upon an innovate technique. It used the redundant sensors-gyroscopes -- along with antenna pointing information and images of specific location on the surface of the moon -- for determining the spacecraft's orientation.
Curiously on May 20, ISRO raised the spacecraft that was orbiting the moon at a height of 100 km (originally intended orbital height) since November last year to 200 km stating that it would now be imaging the lunar surface with a wider swath.

The first allotment to the Engineering Degree Courses, Kerala as part of the allotment to Professional Degree Courses, Kerala 2009 shows a clear shift in demand for the Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Civil Engineering (CE) branches in different categories of Colleges as well as in Colleges in high demand.

FIRST ALLOTMENT: REMIT FEE BY JULY 25
At last the keenly awaited day has come. The first allotment in the Kerala professional courses admission has been released before noon on the appointed day of July 17. Candidates can now enter the roll number, application number and key number at the site http://www.cee.kerala.gov.in/capresult2009/main/index.php to know their position. The candidates who get allotment in the first allotment have been advised by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination to remit the fee from 18th to 25th July 2009.
Those who fail to remit the fee on or before 25th July 2009 will lose the existing allotment and the existing higher options in all the streams. Candidates allotted to MBBS/BDS course should join the colleges on 27th or 28th July 2009 and candidates allotted to Engineering, Architecture or Medical courses other than MBBS/BDS shall remit fee on or before 25th July2009 but they need to join the course only after the second allotment, the CEE said.
According to the official press release from the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations,
a total number of 43,442 students registered 30,06,338 options at the
time of closing of options at 10 pm on 14th July.
Altogether 150 colleges in the various sections of government, aided, government-controlled self-financing and private self-financing, figure in the list for first allotment. These include 49 engineering colleges, eight medical colleges, 17 dental colleges, one sidha and one ayurveda college in the private self-financing sector
Allotted student’s name, roll number, allotted course, college, reservation granted, the tuition fee/deposit/caution deposit to be remitted have been published on the allotment page. The student can take a printout of the page.
Students have not been given allotment in nine self-financing ayurveda colleges that are yet to get the Letter of Permission from the Central Government. Kasargode, Thrikkarippur, College of Engineering’s BTech Biotechnology course which has not received the AICTE approval and Wayanad Government Engineering College’s BTech Electrical and Electronics (E&E) course which has not received the university recognition, have not been included in this allotment.
FEE REMISSION
Students who have got allotment should remit the fees at one of the select branches of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) between 18.07.2009 and 25.07.2009 3.30 pm. and collect the receipts. The list of the select SBT branches is given on the site www.cee-kerala.org The allotment and the higher options to all streams of students who fail to submit the fee within the stipulated time, will be cancelled.
The fee concession for the BPL/low income family/SEBC students in self-financing medical/dental colleges that has come into effect in 2009 will be granted only after the completion of the allotment process. So students who do not receive benefits under SC/ST/OEC G.O. (M.S) No. 25/2005/SCSTDD dated 20.06.2005, should remit the state merit fee. Those who receive fee concession after admission will get back the excess fee remitted.
MBBS/BDS COLLEGE ADMISSION
It has been notified that students who have received allotment to MBBS/BDS courses should present themselves with the originals of their certificates as specified in the prospectus, at the allotted college on July 27 and 28, 2009, and secure admission. The self-financing medical and dental managements have been authorized to secure a bond from students who secure admission in government quota (except SC/ST) for service on the lines of the bond in government colleges. The MBBS/BDS allotment and higher order options to all streams of students who do not secure admission by presenting themselves before the respective MBBS/BDS colleges before 28.07.2009 will be cancelled.

According to the official press release from the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations,
a total number of 43,442 students registered 30,06,338 options at the
time of closing of options at 10 pm on 14th July.
Altogether 150 colleges in the various sections of government, aided, government-controlled self-financing and private self-financing, figure in the list for first allotment. These include 49 engineering colleges, eight medical colleges, 17 dental colleges, one sidha and one ayurveda college in the private self-financing sector
Allotted student’s name, roll number, allotted course, college, reservation granted, the tuition fee/deposit/caution deposit to be remitted have been published on the allotment page. The student can take a printout of the page.
Students have not been given allotment in nine self-financing ayurveda colleges that are yet to get the Letter of Permission from the Central Government. Kasargode, Thrikkarippur, College of Engineering’s BTech Biotechnology course which has not received the AICTE approval and Wayanad Government Engineering College’s BTech Electrical and Electronics (E&E) course which has not received the university recognition, have not been included in this allotment.
FEE REMISSION
Students who have got allotment should remit the fees at one of the select branches of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) between 18.07.2009 and 25.07.2009 3.30 pm. and collect the receipts. The list of the select SBT branches is given on the site www.cee-kerala.org The allotment and the higher options to all streams of students who fail to submit the fee within the stipulated time, will be cancelled.
The fee concession for the BPL/low income family/SEBC students in self-financing medical/dental colleges that has come into effect in 2009 will be granted only after the completion of the allotment process. So students who do not receive benefits under SC/ST/OEC G.O. (M.S) No. 25/2005/SCSTDD dated 20.06.2005, should remit the state merit fee. Those who receive fee concession after admission will get back the excess fee remitted.
MBBS/BDS COLLEGE ADMISSION
It has been notified that students who have received allotment to MBBS/BDS courses should present themselves with the originals of their certificates as specified in the prospectus, at the allotted college on July 27 and 28, 2009, and secure admission. The self-financing medical and dental managements have been authorized to secure a bond from students who secure admission in government quota (except SC/ST) for service on the lines of the bond in government colleges. The MBBS/BDS allotment and higher order options to all streams of students who do not secure admission by presenting themselves before the respective MBBS/BDS colleges before 28.07.2009 will be cancelled.

MAT comes in Online mode also
The Management Aptitude Test conducted by All India Managements Association for admission to the MBA and Allied Programmes of over 160 Business schools in the country will henceforth be online also in addition to the conventional Paper-Pencil Test. The next Paper-Pencil test will be held on 6th September 2009 (Sunday) form 10 am to 12.30 noon.
The Computer based online Test will be held from 7th September (Monday) onwards in different slots at specified test venues subject to the number of candidates registering for Computer Based Test. If the number of candidates registering for Computer Based Test (Online Test) is few/limited, these candidates have to appear for the Paper-Pencil Test on 6th September 2009 only.
The list of Test Centre Cities along with their codes are given at http://www.aima-ind.org/mat_general.asp Graduates in any discipline are eligible to take MAT. Final year students of Graduate Courses are also eligible.

The option registration process for the Kerala Professional College Admissions closed at 10 pm today as scheduled by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. Altogether 43,443 students registered 30,06,031 options by the closing time. The registrations had fallen into a slow pace after crossing the figure of 42,000.
The number of students who have registered options this year is less compared to last year. A total number of 44,834 students had registered their options at the time of closing of option registration on 14th July last year.
The trial allotment was published on 12th July by taking into consideration around 36,000 options (registered up to 05 pm on Saturday). The first allotment is expected to be published by the evening of 17th July.

Applications invited for MCA Entrance
Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Course in Kerala in the AICTE approved institutions for the academic year 2009-10.
A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level or a pass in any recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects.
Candidates who are appearing/have appeared for the qualifying examination this year are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination subject to the condition that the entire mark list of the qualifying examination shall be produced by the candidate at the time of admission.
Seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes as per the existing reservation principles of the Government.
The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode on 23.08.2009 (Sunday). It will be of two-hour duration and will consist of 150 Objective Type Questions covering the following areas of study at the graduate level. (a) Mathematics (b) Statistics (c) Physics (d) Chemistry (e) General Knowledge (f) General English and (g) Fundamentals of Computer Awareness.
The prospectus and application form will be available from 13-07-2009 on the website www.cee-kerala.org (See clause 8 of the Prospectus). Candidates can apply in the online application form provided in the web site www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee at any SBT branch by using the chalan available in the printout of the online application form.
Candidates residing outside Kerala state can remit the application fee by way of demand draft drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee for General/SEBC candidates is Rs.800/- and for SC/ST candidates is Rs.400/-.Application fee once remitted will not be refunded it any circumstances.
Candidates seeking admission should take the printout of the application after entering the details online, and forward the application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001,either by Registered post or by hand delivery on or before 5 pm on 31.07.2009 (Friday).

Govt shocks students with a sharp fee hike
It can be termed the most unkindest cut on the part of the government in the professional college admission history of the state. In a brazen and bizarre act, the state government has hiked by over four times the fees in the self-financing engineering colleges under it and the universities, putting to shame the recent attempts of the private managements to marginally increase their fees for this year.
After the increase, the fee for engineering in 50% government seats in these colleges would be Rs. 25,000/- compared to Rs. 6200/- in 2008. The fee in management seats would continue to be Rs.65000/- as in 2008.
The fee for MBBS at the two colleges in this category (CMC Kochi, AMS Pariyaram) would be Rs.25,000/- for BPL category (10 seats), Rs.40,000/- for SEBC (13 seats) and Rs.90,000/- for state merit seats. It would be Rs.4,50,000/- for the 35% Management seats. In 2008, the fee in the 50% government quota was Rs.25,000/- and that for the management seats was Rs.4,35,000/-
For BDS, the fee at Pariyaram Dental College would be Rs.23,000/- for BPL category (6 seats), Rs.39,000/- for SEBC (8 seats) and Rs.88,000/- for state merit. The fee would be Rs.2,80,000/- for management seats in this college. In 2008, the fee was Rs.23,000/- in government seats and Rs.2,80,000/- in management seats

KEAM 2009: Option Registration from today
The Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala has announced the dates for the commencement of Options Registration for admissions to Professional Degree Courses, Kerala, 2009.
As per the notice put up on www.cee-kerala.org “The activities related to the allotment to Professional Degree Courses for the year 2009-10 will commence on 07.07.2009 (Tuesday). Candidates included under various ranklists can register their options on the Website www.cee.Kerala.gov.in/keam from 1 pm on 07.07.2009 to 1 pm on 14.07.2009. Candidates who do not register their options will not be considered for allotment under any circumstances. The “Option Facilitation Centres” [OFC] and “Help Desks” [HD], having internet facility, will be functioning throughout the State during this period for registration of options by the candidates. The details of such centers are available in the website, www.cee-kerala.org
With the time span for registration of options reduced to just seven days, each minute becomes important for the candidate.
It is certain that the candidates are going to have a busy week with the deadline for registration of options to end by 1 pm on 14.7.2009.

KEAM 2009 : Option Regn may get delayed
Although the Government has entered into an agreement with Managements of Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges and Medical Colleges on seat sharing and fee structure for 2009 admissions, the stage is not set to start the Centralized Online Allotment Process in the state, it is understood.
In 2008, the online registration of options had commenced on July 5 and the first allotment was announced on July 17, 2008. In between two rounds of trial allotments were made. A total of 10 days were given for registration of options which concluded on 14th July 2008.
Unless the option registration starts immediately, the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations would find it difficult to complete the first round of admissions to MBBS, by 25th July, 2009 the cut-off date fixed by the Supreme Court of India for completing the first round of admissions to MBBS. The second round of admissions under the All India Quota commences on 27th July 2009.

Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering (TKMCE), founded in 1958, is the first government aided engineering institution in the private sector in the state of Kerala, India.
